Recently I told you about some gifts that I have been making and giving. It is just one of the things that I feel like the Lord can use me to do for His glory.
After finishing a number of things for others, I made a couple of items for myself. I pin various patterns on Pinterest all the time, but there are always a few things that catch my eye. One was a cowl scarf and another was a poncho and matching hat.
Earlier this week, I wore the poncho and hat and loved it. It was warm and fun and it made me happy all day. As I picked up my son from his hip-hop class, a friend from church saw me and commented (as many others had that day) about how much she liked it. I politely said thanks and went on with my day.
Then the next day, as I sat in our staff meeting where our discussion centered around the kind of church we want to be (one that brings glory to God), I felt the Lord impress on my heart that I was to give away that poncho and hat to the woman I saw at the dance studio. My immediate response was one of obedience. (Although I do have to say there was a twinge of disappointment that something I had made for myself wasn’t for me after all.) I went home, got it, and left it for her at her home.
Later in the evening, I got a message from her about how blessed she was by the gift waiting for her when she got home from a long day of doctor visits.
And all I could think was, “Thank You, Lord, for letting me be a part of your blessing for her.”
In that vein, I was thinking about you, my readers, this morning and the fact that there are people in your lives that need to be blessed in some way as well. So, I decided that today I will do a giveaway. Leave a comment on my blog page (not on Facebook or Twitter) about someone in your life who needs a blessing. What a wonderful idea! I have a dear friend who just lost her job. She’s a mother of a two year old little girl (cutest little girl ever, I swear!). I help watch the little girl after work when I can, but it just amazes me how much this woman does. She is the strongest person I know. Something like this would just make her smile.
I have a co-worker and friend who was recently diagnosed with Breast Cancer and they found some other issues with her ovaries as well. She just had a hysterectomy me on Monday, March 4th and is set to have a double mastectomy on Wednesday, March 20th. She is so strong and brave, I can’t imagine having to go through one life altering surgery let alone 2 in a 2 week time period. I feel that Jennifer would def, benefit from one of your creations.

I have a friend who has been through cancer twice, including breast cancer. She has just had another scare but thanks be to God the lumps they found were benign. She is due for another PET scan in the next month. She has dealt with lots of financial problems in her life and with people in a small town looking down upon her and her family as they have fought through several personal problems and come through them wonderfully. She has always had a smile on her face, even when she was going through chemo. She always has a positive attitude and would be there for anyone in person, thought or prayer. She may not have much to give as far as material things, but her smile and kindness will light up your room! She is a very strong person and I believe that one of your amazing creations would light up her room! My Blessings to each and every one of the individuals mentioned here!!
